Support Amistad: Preserving History, Empowering Communities
We are still on a high from the Amistad Research Center’s (ARC) recognition as a recipient of the IMLS' 2022 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. This national recognition was based on mistad’s decades-long legacy as a cultural heritage institution. ARC proudly maintains a reputation for providing access to outstanding collections, creating thought-provoking public programming, exceptional educational outreach, and for supporting individuals & organizations that highlight the histories of marginalized communities. Amistad continues to be a catalyst for dialogue and change, providing access to outstanding collections, thought-provoking programs, and educational outreach.

There is no story that the Amistad Research Center can’t tell
ARC tells stories of people and organizations who fight for equality, freedom, and social justice. Amistad's legacy is rooted in liberty. This isn’t solely ours to protect. We share this legacy with you, and we are counting on you to take your place in history.
The Morial Family is requesting donations to the Amistad Research Center in memory of Sybil Morial's service to the ARC.
Your generous contribution will help us secure $75,000 to support the preservation and expansion of access to our extensive collections, including over 900 collections, 8,000 moving images, and 1,100 works of art by African American artists.
By donating to Amistad, you are:
- Honoring Sybil Morial's legacy
- Preserving the stories of marginalized communities
- Supporting the preservation and expansion of our valuable collections
Let's work together to ensure that Amistad can continue to tell the stories that matter.
